Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Huston born April 2, 1945 in Kenosha, WI, left us too soon on June 21, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kathy Huston. She fought courageously against a lung condition (PMBAC) for two years, demonstrating unwavering strength and resilience. Kathy touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and love. Kathy was a current resident of South Elgin, IL and a long-time resident of Tucson, AZ.
Kathy was born and grew up in Kenosha, WI. She had fond memories of growing up there with her brother, Buzz, and sister, Nancy. She married Lawrence Green I and had her only son while living there. Although her first marriage did not last, she found her true love, Richard Huston, years after moving to Tucson, AZ in 1971. Kathy and Richard were married 38 years before his death in 2012. Kathy enjoyed working as an orthodontic hygienist until her retirement. After retiring she often volunteered to read to school children and on church committees. She was an animal lover who always had dogs in her home.
She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts. As we mourn her loss, we find solace in knowing that she is at peace.
Kathy is survived by her son, Lawrence “Larry” F. Green II (Kim), and her children through marriage – daughter, Dixie Check, son, David Huston, daughter, Susan Huston, and son, Joe Huston; her 9 grandchildren, Dexter (Sarah) Finely, Irina Check, Larry (Makenna) Green III, Natalie Check, Alexis Birkebak, John Check, Larissa Huston, Justin Green and Clarice Huston; and her 8 great-grandchildren, Gracie Desmarais, Logan Desmarais, Natalya Birkebak, Elizabeth Finely, Luke Finley, Clayton Finely, Jensen Heacock, and Ada Green. Kathy is also survived by her sister, Nancy Coons, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her husband, Richard Huston.
May Kathy rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she shared with us all.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Kathy’s life. In lieu of flowers and in accordance with her wishes, donations may be made to your local animal shelter in her memory.
